Description

The first release in the series Hungarian Castles
The Castle of Visegrád is a fortress located in the Danube Bend, in the city of Visegrád. The Visegrád mountains extend all the way down from the rocky crags to the banks of the Danube. The Medieval castle played an important political and military role in Hungarian history all the way until the end of the 17th century, when its military significance declined.

Front: In addition to the mandatory elements (the denomination: 5000 FORINT, the legend: MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG, the mint mark: BP. and the date: 2004), and the designer’s master mark, the front of the coin features a view of the so-called Salamon Tower of the Visegrád Castle, with the Danube Bend in the background.
Back:Along with the legend “VISEGRÁDI VÁR”, the back has a panoramic view of the whole Visegrád Castle.
