Description

Part of the series World Heritage sites in Hungary
HOLLÓKŐ preserves its honour and traditions because it is the real thing, not just a copy. The Catholic church with a wooden tower and shingle roof is the village’s hallmark, along with the castle on the hill above. It is surrounded with simple houses from the Palóc region, where visitors can try out pottery throwing or textile weaving, and some even offer accommodation. Spending a few days in Hollókő is more than just relaxation, it’s a way of life. So it’s no surprise that the inhabitants, young and old, want to preserve this calm, peaceful lifestyle.

Front: The mandatory elements (the denomination: 5000 FORINT, the legend: MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG, the mint mark: BP. and the date: 2003) are found above the depiction of the Hollókő Castle on the front of the coin.
Back:The back of the coin depicts a woman in traditional Hollókő-style folk dress, with the Palóc houses and the Hollókő church.
Keywords:Nature, World Heritage, Hungarian landscape, landscapes, Environment, silver,
