Description
This coin was released as part of the series: World Heritage sites in Hungary presenting the areas and buildings in Hungary’s charming capital which are part of world heritage.
Front: In addition to the mandatory elements (the denomination: 5000 FORINT, the legend: MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG, the mint mark: BP. and the date: 2009), the front of the coin depicts Andrássy Avenue, with the Opera House on the left and the former Ballet Institute building on the right.
Back:The back presents the panorama of the Danube banks between the Chain Bridge and the Margaret Island, as seen from Buda, with the Tabán parish church in the foreground. The circular legend “BUDAPEST” runs around the top. To the right of the parish church, one can see the master mark of designer Mihály Fritz.
