Part of the series World Heritage sites in Hungary
Aggtelek National Park is the only national park in Hungary which was created primarily for the protection of surface and subsurface natural areas in 1985. Some 280 caves can be found at the almost 20,000-hectare site, which was inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage in 1995, together with the caves of the Slovak karst.
Front: In addition to the mandatory elements (the denomination: 5000 FORINT, the legend: MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG, the mint mark: BP. and the date: 2005), the front of the coin has a stylised image of a flying bat.
