Description

The 55-hectare National Heritage Park at Ópusztaszer is one of the best-known museum institutions and national heritage sites in Hungary. According to Hungarian historical tradition, it was the spot where the Hungarian conquerors held their first “national assembly and lawmaking”. The Ópusztaszer National Heritage Park is a key site of Hungarian national identity, with the Árpád monument built in 1896 and the memorial column erected in 2012, as well as home to the monumental painting “Arrival of the Hungarians” by Árpád Feszty.

Front:The front of the coin presents a detail of the Árpád monument at the Ópusztaszer National Heritage Park, showing Grand Prince Árpád. The compulsory design elements: the inscription ‘MAGYARORSZÁG’, the value numerals ‘2000’, the mint mark ‘BP’ and the mint year ‘2021’ are also on the obverse.
Back:Some of the emblematic designs of the Heritage Park are found on the back of the coin, with the floorplan of the Monastery, the Árpád monument and the Rotunda in front of a forested background. The master mark of the coin’s designer Virág Szabó is integrated into the forest on the left side.
