Part of the series presenting nature conservation
The European wildcat (Felis silvestris) is a carnivoran of the Felidae family. They are small-bodied predators, feeding on small mammals, birds and creatures of similar size (e.g. they also eat fish, reptiles and insects). In Hungary, the wildcat has been a strictly protected species since 2012.

Front: The front has the mandatory elements: the denomination 200 Forint, the mint mark BP., the date 1985 and the legend Magyar Népköztársaság.
Back:The back has the legend ‘HA KEDVES AZ ÉLETE’ (If you value life) and ‘Vadmacska (Felis Silvestris)’, along with the designer’s mark.
