Description
To mark the 45th anniversary of the Kiskunság National Park’s foundation, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank is issuing a 2,000-forint non-ferrous coin in 2020. This commemorative coin is the fifth member issued in the series ‘National Parks of Hungary’.
Front:The front of the coin depicts a pied avocet feeding in water, along with its reflection. While the pied avocet is not unique to this area, due to its special habitat needs it serves as a fine reminder of the soda lakes which characterise the Kiskunság National Park. On the obverse, the compulsory design elements of the coins are shown: the lettering ‘MAGYARORSZÁG’ (Hungary), the denominations 2000 FORINT’, the mint year 2020 and the mint mark ‘BP.’
Back: The back of the coin shows a typical landscape feature of the Park: the ragged profile of sand dunes formed by wind, with trees and bushes in the background. In two horizontal lines above the motif, one finds the legend ‘KISKUNSÁGI’ and ‘NEMZETI PARK’ (Kiskunság / National Park). To the bottom left, there are two horizontal lines with the legend ‘FÜLÖPHÁZI’ and ‘BUCKAVIDÉK’ (Fülöpháza / Sand Dunes).
