Description
Margit Kovács (1902-1977) was a renowned, Kossuth award-winning Hungarian ceramic artist and one of the founders of modern Hungarian ceramic art. She created relief works and tiles, as well as working on the wheel and using coiling technique. She developed her own peculiar, finely nuanced color schemes in glazing. Her works focused on human beings in many different themes, including realistic portraits, small grotesque figures and Biblical compositions. Her works are renowned and sought after both in Hungary and abroad.
