Description
Founded in 1875 by Count Miksa Esterházy, Magyar Athletikai Club (Hungarian Athletic Club) was the most prestigious and successful Hungarian sports association up until its dissolution in 1946. Over the years, the association was active in 21 different sports and produced 18 Olympic champions, with its members winning 63 gold medals at Olympic Games and World and European Championships.
Front: The front of the coin bears the logo of the Hungarian Athletic Club, with a view of a running track in the background. The front also features the mandatory elements: the semi-circular legend “MAGYARORSZÁG” at the top; on the left, the denomination “3000 FORINT” horizontally in two lines at the middle, partially overlapping the track; and the date “2025” and mint mark “BP.” on the right.
Backup: A portrait of Count Miksa Esterházy, the Club’s founder and first president, is found on the back. To the right of the portrait in five lines runs the legend “150 ÉVES A GRÓF ESTERHÁZY MIKSA ÁLTAL ALAPÍTOTT MAGYAR ATHLETIKAI CLUB ÉS A MAGYAR VERSENYSPORT” (150th Anniversary of the
