Description
The 1848-1849 Revolution and War of Independence was one of the defining moments in the modern history of Hungary and forms the foundation for the nation’s identity. With its social reforms, it launched a period of civil transformation.
Front: The front of the coin has the mandatory elements, such as the denomination 100 FORINT”, the mint mark “BP.”, the legend “MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG” and the master mark, along with an image of the Second Class Hungarian Military Order of 1848–1849.
Back:The back has a verse from the epic of Petőfi “God of the Hungarians”: “YOU WILL LIVE, MY COUNTRY, AS YOU MUST, FOREVER”.
