Integration into the European Union, silver commemorative coin
At the Luxembourg summit in 1997, the European Union decided to commence accession negotiations in 1998 with six countries, including Hungary. These negotiations started with ceremonies on 31 March 1998.
Front: The front of this silver coin has the mandatory elements, the denomination 2000 Forint, the mint mark BP., the date 1993, the legend Magyar Köztársaság and the coat-of-arms of Hungary.
Back:The back bears the legend “INTEGRÁCIÓ AZ EURÓPAI KÖZÖSSÉGBE” “EURO'”, and part of the Millennium’s Monument on Heroes’ Square in Budapest
