Description
John von Neumann was a Hungarian-American mathematician, physicist, computer scientist, and polymath. Von Neumann was generally regarded as the foremost mathematician of his time and said to be “the last representative of the great mathematicians”; a genius who was comfortable integrating both pure and applied sciences. He made major contributions to a number of fields, including mathematics, physics (quantum mechanics, hydrodynamics, and quantum statistical mechanics), economics (game theory), computing (Von Neumann architecture, linear programming, self-replicating machines, stochastic computing), and statistics.
Front: The front has the mandatory elements: the denomination 5000 FORINT, the mint mark “BP.”, the date “2003”, the legend “Magyar Köztársaság” and the master mark of the designer, and the constituents of the binary system used for computer programmes – number one and zero – in a perspectival image.
Back:On the reverse side, in the background of the scientist’s portrait, there is part of the computer prepared in 1951 on the basis of János Neumann’s concepts.
