Description
The coin set contains the complete denomination of the 2007 circulation forint coins: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 forint. The inscription on the circulation coins reads “Hungarian Republic”. Mint mark: BP. Quality: BU. The 50 forint coin in the circulation set is a commemorative version to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome. The side of the coin showing its face value is the same as that of the HUF 50 coin currently in circulation, while the other side shows the treaty signed on 25 March 1957 by the six founder countries of the European Economic Community. Above the depiction of the treaty is the legend “EUROPE”, and in the background there is a motif resembling the paving of the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome designed by Michelangelo, a reminder of the place where the treaty was signed. Between the circular legend around the edge and the motif in the central field of the coin there is a circular legend, reading at the top “50 YEARS OF” and at the bottom “THE TREATY OF ROME”.
