PHOTO-ENGRAVING
We recommend our photo-engraving services, depicting a portrait or other image, for customers who want to give a truly unique, one-of-a-kind minted gift.
We offer pre-struck medals with a polished surface which is ideal for photo-engraving to meet your needs. Some of these medals already feature motifs and also have a brilliant surface suitable for photo-engraving. With photo-engraving, the image on the medal is composed of tiny white dots on the brilliant (proof) surface.
Photo-engraving costs EUR 17,50 / side, incl. VAT.
The costs for photo-engraving are added to the cost of the medal which is selected. For medals with photo-engraving purchased at the Webshop and with online prepayment, the costs of photo-engraving are charged separately and payment is due upon delivery.
A photograph or digital file is needed for photo-engraving. Digital pictures must be at least 1000×1000 pixels, with a resolution of at least 240 dpi, in .jpg (JPEG) format. Please do not use strong file compression, as this lowers the quality of the picture. Please send digital photographs to coins@hu.inter.net, referencing the medal purchase at the Webshop, or attach the file using the File Upload form at the bottom of this page.
We can also perform photo-engraving based on paper photographs. The paper photograph to be scanned must be glossy and sharp. Please send paper photographs to the Hungarian Mint Ltd., Commercial Office, 1054 Budapest, Báthory u. 7. or submit them in person at the coin shop operating at that location. Naturally, we will return the paper photograph together with the photo-engraved medal.
Text can also be added to the photo-engraved surface with the same method, using up some of the space provided for the image; this is included in the price of EUR 17,50.
Our medals for special occasions with decorative patterning around the edge can be photo-engraved on one side and have text engraved on the other side. In this case, the cost of engraving must be paid separately (EUR 0,4 or EUR 0,7 per character, incl. VAT); please seen the Engraving menu for more details.
Photo-engraving takes roughly five working days from receipt of the order.

Horoscope medals with the 12 signs of the zodiac (of non-ferrous metal, silver-plated PP reverse, the entire mirror-finish surface can be photo-engraved)

We hereby notify our customers that by providing an image or text for photo-engraving they accept management of their personal data by the company. We will return the photograph upon delivery of the finished medal and the text is deleted when the medal is finished. Digital images sent online are also deleted when the medal is finished.
