The 150 years of the Hungarian Athletics Club and Hungarian Competitive Sports collector coin

Founded in 1875 by Count Miksa Esterházy, Magyar Athletikai Club (Hungarian Athletic Club) was the most prestigious and successful Hungarian sports association up until its dissolution in 1946. Over the years, the association was active in 21 different sports and produced 18 Olympic champions, with its members winning 63 gold medals at Olympic Games and World and European Championships.
To mark the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Hungary’s first competitive sports club, the Magyar Nemzeti
Bank is issuing a 3,000-forint non-ferrous collector coin.
