Commemorative 5-forint coins issued to mark 75th anniversary of the forint
The Magyar Nemzeti Bank is issuing commemorative 5-forint coins to mark the 75th anniversary of the forint. On 2 August 2021.
In relation to these special 5-forint coins, three new products will be appearing in our Webshop and coin shop from 8 am on 3 August 2021.
First-day strikes
Price: HUF 1,790
12,000 first-day strikes (normal BU quality) in numbered, special gift packaging.
Gift-boxed roll package – roll set
Price: HUF 29,900
The gift-boxed roll package contains one roll each of the six kinds of coins. A limited number of 1,750 of these sets will be available. 1 roll contains 50 coins.
5-forint empty collector folder
Price: HUF 750
Empty collector folders can also be purchased for storing circulation coins.
Due to the high quantity of coins being issued (in contrast to the past), with 2 million coins being issued for each letter, i.e. 12 million coins, availability of the coins by way of making change cannot be guaranteed by the MNB at its retail cash desk or the Hungarian Mint Ltd. at its coin shop.
The thematic side of the commemorative 5-forint coin was created based on the graphic design of Mónika Gyuró, whose designs were the most popular in the public vote held in February.

Acceptance of pre-order requests for the collector coins announced in the MNB’s 2025 issuing programme will begin at 8 am on 13 January 2025.
